  1. I was interested in what times the SLO Bike Coalition site is open. I picked up a t-shirt there and need to exchange it for a different size.

Could you let me know your hours?

    Thank you.

    • Hi Barbara! We are in the Coalition office pretty much from 9-5 every weekday. The Bike Kitchen is open Weds, Thurs 4-7pm and Sunday 12-4pm.

Feel free to give us a call at 805.547.2055 to be sure we’re here for you to get a different size! Thanks so much for your support of the Coalition, we couldn’t do it without you.

  2. My 14 year old daughter and I had the most amazing time at the May 21, 2011 Bike Workshop. It was fun, relaxed and educational. Aileen, Leslie, and Jessica are great instructors. I was very impressed with the training and bike tour through town. The drills were very well done ,also. I feel much more confident and that will make both my daughter and I better, more predicable and therefore, safer cyclists. I can’t thank you enough for the experience. And I am happy to add that we are now family members of the coalition. Keep up the great work!!

    • Hi Rene’,

We’re so glad you found the workshop helpful! It was great to answer so many questions and help everyone feel more confident as we rode as a group through town. Let your friends know that we have more workshop dates set for the rest of the year, in case they want to join us. As always, they’re free!

Thanks again for supporting the Coalition, we are proud to represent you & your family as we advocate for better biking & walking in SLO County. We’ll see you in the bike lane!

  3. Hi there
Can you recommend what to do with old bicycles? I have 2 kids bikes and 2 mountain bikes that we no longer use…all are old and well-loved. Any ideas would be appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Antoinette

    • Hi Antoinette,

Our SLO Bike Kitchen accepts adult bikes during our open hours. We fix bicycles up and get them back into the community at very low rates to get more people riding!

Kids bicycles are best donated to the County Sheriff’s Department. They have a program we help them with – the Honor Farm – at the County Jail where inmates fix up kids bicycles throughout the year and donate them to kids during the holidays (very cool!).

      Hope this is helpful!
